SF Trans Leader Elected President of U.S. HIV Panel

Cecilia Chung, a transgender HIV-positive woman who serves on San Francisco’s health commission, has been elected president of the United States People Living with HIV Caucus. The national group brings together organizations, networks, client groups, and individuals with HIV to advocate for HIV-positive people in the U.S.

Chung has also recently joined the board of the Amsterdam-based Global Network of People Living with HIV. She is the first transgender person to serve on the international group’s oversight committee and is serving as the board’s treasurer.
